Some current cards

Here are some cards I've worked on recently. Nature's Nest is a very versatile set. The first bird's nest card is used with the new in-color and also a piece of corrugated cardboard I found in some packaging. Run the cardboard through the Sizzix and you get a nice effect. The turtle and birds nest were stamped on watercolor paper with Stazon ink and then watercolored with markers. I used some Crystal Effects on the turtle's shell to make it pop.

The Fifth Avenue Floral set was used for the Sympathy card. I love the collection of Designer Paper in the Hostess paper set. This card was super simple to make by just stamping on Night of Navy paper and embossing with silver, then cutting out. The silver layer of cardstock completes the card nicely.

My First Spring Card

This is my first attempt at a "Spring Card". The folds can get kind of messy but it's different and I think it displays nice. This is the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set which I colored with watercolor crayons and a blender pen. The background squares are made with a black SU marker, then I went over them with a bone folder. After I finished making the squares, I used the crayons and blender pen again to put a little color in each square. I ended up cutting out the lilies and gluing them over some that were already there to give some depth...actually it was because I was getting better and better coloring the lilies with each one I did. You can just leave it one-dimensional and make the indented lines up to where the lilies are. The squares are a very nice accent.

Love these Tri-Shutter cards

I've had plenty of occasions to practice making the tri-shutter cards lately. Here are a few that I've put together. They aren't difficult to make and give you plenty of space to get creative:

August 15th Workshop

I just finished preparing the cards for our workshop Saturday. Maybe it'll snow to get us in the mood for the first Christmas workshop this year...or at least get below 90 degrees here in Georgia.

The stamps for the Tree Trimmings card are in the new 2009-2010 catalog and the stamps and punch for the Delightful Decorations card are in the new mini-catalog which will take effect September 1st. The mini catalogs will be sent directly to the homes of my top dozen customers so be looking for them if you're in that select group. There is going to be a nice incentive for people to host parties in the next few months so keep that in mind and talk to me about setting up a date for a party and inviting a few of your friends.

Our Saturday workshop was great and we ended out with enough time to make a bonus card using Stampin'Ups new Rich Razzleberry in-color products. An example is below and also a sampling of a black and white card I put together. I love the Circle Circus stamp set. I can see where it's very versatile. These cards were simple to make, they just required a lot of layering.
