Spinal Cerebellar Ataxia Fundraising Event
The event you've all been waiting for is officially starting. In a nutshell, I felt a "calling" to invest my Covid relief check in fabric and in having some items quilted professionally followed by a fund raiser for Spinal Cerebellar Ataxia research.
My plan is simple. Since most of these items are one of a kind, it will be on a first come, first serve basis. You may contact me directly (rjnystrom@gmail.com) or just fill in the contact information on my blog to let me know what you're interested in before you donate and I will reserve it for you for a few days. Once the donation has been received, The National Ataxia Foundation sends me an email letting me know money has been donated as a tribute to me (not in my Memory) and I'll mail the item.
I've posted the National Ataxia Foundation (ataxia.org) link and you'll see how easy it is to hit the DONATE button on the top right. I'm collecting no money so please be sure to handle your donation this way but do send me your contact so I can mail the stellar item.
I'm doing this in memory of my baby sister, Rosie, who passed away last August. Although she died from cancer, the SCA1 took its toll on her body.

I have moved the unsold items to the top and discounted them. If I can sell these I should be able to reach an unbelievable donation amount. I will post this once the fundraiser is complete.
Coastal Waters is a fabric line I fell in love with. This quilt is perfect as a throw if you're a beach loving person. It is 81" x 58" and I'm asking a minimum donation \of $300.
Sloan Square is a queen sized quilt (101" x 78"). This seems to be the gem everyone visiting my home wants so I doubt it will stick around too long. I'm asking $400 minimum donation for it. It was made from a kit and professionally quilted by Bonnie Troth (like most of my large quilts). sold
Peeping Babies is another baby quilt I made previously and could never part with. It's a lovely baby quilt with a flannel backing. I machine embroidered all the animals just like the Jungle Babies quilt. This quilt is 37 1/2" x 46". I'm requesting a minimum donation of $150. SOLD
Hunter's Star is an old quilting favorite. This queen sized quilt is 78" x 85" and I'm also asking for a $400 donation. Sold
These are the final two items I've made. The leaves table runner was the most difficult thing I've ever made and obtained the title "The Cursing Quilt" When I received it back from my quilter I couldn't believe it was the same item. It's going to be difficult to part with. If you have a large dining room table this is a perfect (20 1/2" x 58") size. I'm asking a $65 donation and guarantee you'll love it. sold
